Marcus Lalario opened sports bar 95 Slide two weeks ago in the space that was formerly occupied by the short-lived music club HG Lodge. Before HG Lodge, the space was home to another Lalario business--hipster haven The War Room. The only sign of the space's history is the rooftop patio, which was a huge hit back in War Room days. Lalario has filled the bar with (what else) Seattle sports memorabilia. The bar is named after Ken Griffey Jr's slide into home to beat the Yankees in the 1995 AL Division Series. Note that the Mariners would go on to lose to the Cleveland Indians in the AL Championship Series that year. But in the ill-fated history of the Mariners, it's a highlight.
