One Year In, Grace Kitchen Closes Its Doors

Having just celebrated its one year anniversary, Grace Kitchen has closed, according to a tipster (thanks Chris!). Though Beard award-winner Jerry Traunfeld consulted on the menu, the execution and service were left to others. Grace Kitchen fell short of its ambition, with Seattle Weekly's Hanna Raskin likening the restaurant to a clearance rack. The former Zao Noodle Bar will now be occupied by Elemental Pizza, which serves up wood-fired pizza. Seattle Times Rebekah Denn has all the deets on James Allard and Steve Rosen (co-owners of Blue C Sushi and Boom Noodle), who plan to open Elemental at U Village in mid-October.
