Scratch Deli Goes Bricks and Mortar on Capitol Hill

Scratch Deli owner Ian Thackaberry has a degree in economics, and he prizes consistency. These two traits will come in very handy, as he has now established a fixed location for his sandwich business, Scratch Deli. After roaming various neighborhoods (including a stint at Wallingford's Wine World), Scratch Deli has been parked outside People's Republic of Koffee for the past few months. The location has worked out so well that Scratch Deli is now ensconsed inside.

Scratch Deli is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the phone number is (425) 269-2427. They offer free delivery to neighboring businesses. Though Scratch's meaty options are the most popular (many rave about the BBQ Pork sandwich), Thackaberry's vegan version of a Philly Cheesesteak won over this Stranger writer. Any of Scratch's sandwiches can be made gluten-free or vegan.
