Continuing the day-old tradition of Whale Week, we'll be documenting the finer, more exclusive side of drinking and dining in the Seattle area. That includes the most expensive dishes, from steaks and cognac, to cocktails, wine and burgers. We start off with steak—the most expensive seems to live on the Eastside at John Howie Steak. From John Howie himself:
The highest price steak at John Howie Steak is a single Japanese Wagyu (also known as Kobe). A 6oz Filet Mignon is $160, and our $230 four steak sampler includes each of the following:
(1) 4oz USDA Prime Custom Aged Filet Mignon
(1) 4oz American Wagyu Filet Mignon
(1) 4oz Australian Wagyu Filet Mignon
(1) 4oz Japanese Wagyu Filet Mignon
This was a very popular item with the Seahawk defensive players when they had their rookie dinner. That is the night that the rookies pick up the check, so all of the non-rookies love to order the most expensive food. The dinner was held three nights before the home game against San Francisco when the Seahawks blew them out!
