La Spiga, Agrodolce Launch Lunch

After six years at their Capitol Hill location, Osteria La Spiga is going to start weekday lunch. Co-owner Pietro Borghesi (hubby of chef/co-owner Sabrina Tinsley) says that come the Ides of January (January 15), there will be midday fresh pastas, house made fresh piadina sandwiches, traditional sandwiches, soups, and salads. Those who remember the osteria at its first location at Broadway and Union (now the 8oz Burger Bar) know what a genial lunch they serve. Borghesi and Tinsely met in cooking school in Italy, and opened a piadina shop there before moving to Seattle.

Over in Fremont, Agrodolce launched their new lunch service at 11 am today that includes a lunch box option 'to go'. And starting January 12, they'll be adding weekend brunch with a menu that includes a nice mix of sweet and savory things, like Sicilian pizza and house milled semolina pancakes with orange zest, ricotta, and citrus honey.
