SOUTH LAKE UNION— Shanik is now taking reservations for lunch and dinner. But as Seattle Met points out, "only in half of the dining room, so walk-ins still have plenty of real estate." Right now, reservations are being accepted by phone, with an online option coming soon. [Seattle Met]
DOWNTOWN— RN74 is getting into the to-go biz with boxed lunches, but only to businesses and residences within the 98101 zip code. If that's you, RN74 will create a care package for you that includes a made-from-scratch sandwich or garden fresh salad (grilled albacore tuna nicoise, house-smoked salmon BLT with avocado mousse, etc.) a seasonally crafted side dish, one of pastry chef Lauren Cooper's fresh-baked cookies and a beverage. The fine print: RN74 box lunches are available Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm with delivery between 11 to 11:30 am. Each box is $22 and comes with a 10-box delivery minimum. WEST SEATTLE— Skylark Cafe is under new ownership and you're invited to meet the new owners (who took over September 1). West Seattle Blog reports that there will be an open house tonight starting at 4 pm with happy hour all night long. There will also be samples from the new menu and music starting around 6 pm. Also notable: Skylark will once again serve lunch beginning late October/early November. [WSB]
