Junk Food Reimagined at Snack/Bar Pop-Up

New, 1 comment

Ever thought, "Man, junk food is so awesome, but I wish it tasted a little more upsacle." Yes? Well, then, this pop-up is for you!

Chef Forrest Brunton, who recently left his post as Linda Derschang's executive chef (Smith, Oddfellow's, Linda's, King's, Bait Shop), is getting ready to launch Snack/Bar by way of pop-up: "Snack/Bar is a concept I've been working on for over 12 years. I figured it's time to see if anyone else finds it interesting."

Brunton's first dinner (there will be a series of them, he says) will be this Sunday, October 27, at Miyabi 45th from 5 to 10 pm. Reservations are not required.

As for the menu, Brunton says its goal is "to be true to the memory of [junk] food, and to evoke the feelings that it once did. Future Snack/Bar menus will include our take on a variety of street food, bar food, and convenience food."
