WEST SEATTLE— The West Seattle Brewing Company has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the $20,000 they need to finally open their tasting room (they signed the lease for the former Tervo's Market spot 15 months ago, West Seattle Herald points out). Their Kickstarter page describes their business as "A haven for soccer fans, the homebrewing community, of course beer connoisseurs, and with a platform for musicians and artists to share their work, we cannot wait to bring this place to life!" SEATTLE— Over at The Seattle Times, Tan Vinh finds that the new Greenwood location of Pike Place Market's Alibi Room has a more neighborhood vibe, but the same pizza: "Greenwood's Alibi Room has a polite, neighborhood feel and not the insider vibe of the Post Alley location. It's less cliquish. It lacks the late-night characters and the snarky remarks, which is, depending on one's perspective, part of the charm of the original Alibi — or the bane of it." [Seattle Times]
BALLARD— Looks like Ballard's only self-serve frozen yogurt store, Yozen, has closed up shop at 2038 NW Market St., with not so much as a sign to let patrons know why. [MyBallard]
