FREMONT— Vif is hosting a pop-up dinner with Walrus and the Carpenter chef de cuisine, Eli Dahlin, on November 9. According to the website, Eli has created an adventurous menu around the theme 'A Walk in the Park'. Says Dahlin, "It's a little outside my wheelhouse — lots of foraged items, modern style. Trout, deer, snails, duck, birds eggs, wild mushrooms, parts of trees, windfall fruit, etc. And pigeon, naturally." Tickets are $100, which includes a six course meal with wine pairings. Dinner starts at 7:30 pm. Call (206) 557-7357 for reservations. [EaterWire]
SEATTLE— Seattle Magazine names its New Tastemakers of 2013. The hot seven includes: Kari Brunson and Brandin Myet of Juicebox, Travis Kukull of Gastropod, and Anna Wallace of Seattle Seltzer Company. [Seattle Mag]
DOWNTOWN— Miller's Guild, the new Jason Wilson project heading to Hotel Max this fall, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the restaurant's signature 75-day dry-aged beef, nose-to-tail butchery, and cask-aged spirits program. Backers have the chance to attend pre-opening dinners, butchery classes, and more. So far, they've raised about one-third of their $28,000 goal. [EaterWire]
