When Melissa Nyffeler announced recently that she would be taking Capitol Hill's Dinette to new digs, vinyl-lover Gary Reynolds jumped on it. The record collector and gumbo enthusiast tells CHS about his concept and timeline for Revolver, a bar where he can showcase both his loves: Music and Bar culture. "The idea is to spin album side records. It's just like looking at one of those classic 1960s HiFis, that's it.
Reynolds hopes to open sometime around March, having just snagged the keys. But while he knows he's likely going to put in some built-in couches and add in a larger bar, the food part of the plan isn't quite as set in stone. The owner of Electrokitty Recording Studio in Wallingford happens to have roots in Texas, and says his gumbo is radtastic. In fact, he even has his own catering company, Gary's Gumbo.
The business fella is also stoked to be part of the hoppin' side of the Hill, with neighbor Montana recently expanding, and more life coming over yonder.
