Izakaya Hot-Spot Showa is Closing

New, 5 comments

Rumors have been swirling for a while that Showa in Fremont was closing. On Friday, they made the announcement on their Facebook page, saying the place would indeed be closing for good Sunday, February 24.

Showa business partners Taichi Kitamura and Steve Tamura also own Sushi Kappo Tamura on Eastlake. Says Tamura:

Showa has been sold and will re-open under a different restaurant name and concept sometime in early March. Taichi and I decided it was best to focus on our place over on Eastlake and we had the opportunity to sell to one of our former managers at SKT so it seemed to be a good fit for everyone.

The Facebook post may have been a little premature as Kitamura says the deal has not been completely finalized.
