It's been nearly three months since Bavarian Meats entered the world of sit-down dining; now, they have heated eats, adding to the number of German places in town: Von Trapp's, Prost, Die Bierstube, Feierabend, Bratz, Berliner Doner Kebab, The Wurst Place, The People's Pub, Szmania's sometimes, and that place in Ravenna (Heidelberg Haus).
Bavarian Meats, which is actually peopled by real Bavarians with heavy accents, has hot lunches from 11 am to 3 pm. Recently, the chalkboard menu listed weiner schnitzel, currywurst, Jäger schnitzel with spaetzle or knodel dumplings, and bratwurst with sauerkraut and fried potatoes. For dessert there's käsekuchen (cheesecake) like Mama Oerter used to make, and a honey/almond/custard Bienenstich, or bee sting, cake.
