SEATTLE— There's a new breakfast option downtown, at least on Fridays. The mobile grilled cheese truck Monte Cristo Mobile Melts is going to start serving the most important meal of the day on Fridays beginning this week. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10 am at the 2nd and Pike food truck pod. Try not to drool while checking out the menu.>>>> [EaterWire]
FREMONT— Fremont's Showa closed on Friday, and now the chef that headed up the izakaya kitchen is starting his own pop-up called Bloom Bento. According to our friends at Nosh Pit, Jason Harris wil set up shop at Kylie's Chicago Pizza in the heart of Fremont starting (tentatively) in mid-March. He's making just 40 bento lunches a day to start, so you know the noon-time demand will be off the charts. [Seattle Met]
CAPITOL HILL— 2013 is shaping up to be the year of the cookbook. Eater National has a list of 57 of them, including Seattle's vegan magnet, Plum Bistro. Owner Makini Howell has compiled a list of 60 dishes for Plum: Gratifying Vegan Dishes from Seattle's Plum Bistro. [EN]
