BELLTOWN— Years after ending his quarterly charitable cook-offs (which he held at Union back in the day), Ethan Stowell is bringing them back. Beginning Sunday, February 24 at 6 pm at Tavolata, a mix of amateur and professional chefs will try their hand at chili. The cost is $50 for pretty much AYCE (including salad and garlic bread), tap beer and a score card. Proceeds go to Fetal Hope Foundation. Call the restaurant at (206) 838-8008 to reserve a spot. BALLARD— El Camion is joining the brick-and-mortar club on Thursday when it officially inhabits the old Zesto's space on 15th. And, yes, the three taco trucks will continue to operate. [Seattle Met]
SEATTLE— Are electronic menus the new stain-soaked paper? Probably, according to a dude from Menutive, a producer of tablet menu software. The good news is, they're much easier to clean. [Seattle Weekly]
