Lost Lake Cafe Opening Delayed by Fire

After getting scorched by fire over the weekend, Lost Lake Cafe, the new 24-hour diner on Capitol Hill that was slated to open later this month, is picking up the pieces and moving forward with opening plans, if not delayed ones.

Says co-owner Jason Lajeunesse:

We are still at it. Insurance adjusters have almost all come through. Next it's clean up crew and to start assesing the damage in detail. For the most part, we are looking at smoke damage and some fire damage near the fire place, where the fire started. Hard to say how much time will be added to the opening schedule, but my guess is about a week of related delays.

CHS has more details on Saturday night's fire. Police confirm it was sparked by improperly discarded rags, which ultimately caused about $20,000 in damage to the building and the business.
