First, word of a new barbecue joint. Now, Seattle Met breaks the news that Fremont is also getting a fried chicken spot in the former home of Anita's Crepes. The Wandering Goose's Michael Law, the guy responsible for the cafe's juicy fried and otherwise southern fare, is planning to open Bourbon & Bones sometime this summer (the hope is July). Allecia Vermillion reports, "Law's plans include a smoker for some proper barbecue, and plenty of pickled items and cured meats. But there's more to him than hearty southernness. He spent three years cooking in Barcelona, Avignon, and parts of Germany, and wants to marry his southern background with some favorite European techniques." As the name suggests, there will also be plenty of brown liquor-based cocktails.
Law isn't leaving the Goose completely; he is still going to be checking in each week to oversee the menu during this transition time.
