After taking a 15 month hiatus from Seattle Pie Company, Lyss Lewis and her identical twin sister, Nat Delucchi, are getting ready to open Pie Bar in the former Saley Crepes space on Capitol Hill. Says Lewis:

My dad passed away and we came back to Seattle and Nat and I felt it was best to start it up, but to start it up in sort of a naughty way, where we could do booze and pie. I did the pie shop theme for awhile and we thought we'd incorporate the booze into it and have a blast.

Pie Bar will be on the same block as Knee High Stocking Co., Speckled & Drake, and John John's Game Room.

Lewis will offer an assortment of sweet and savory pies, including Irish-style pasties. There will also be beer on tap, wine, cider, imperial stout floats and pie-flavored martinis, courtesy of sis Nat. Oh, and a walk-up window for slices to-go.

The way I grew Seattle Pie, I had 40 grocery store accounts (including Whole Foods and Met Market). I would say that was my college for the pie business. I'll do whole pies with 24 hours notice, but I am not going to do any catering. I just want to have fun with my sister and make 30 pies a night and have a beer and enjoy my customers.

When Pie Bar opens May 1 (that's next Wednesday), regular hours of operation will be Wed-Sun, 5 pm to 2 am.
