Want a taste of Tanakasan before it opens? Tom Douglas is giving the impatient diner not one, but two chances to preview his soon-to-be restaurant by way of pop-up (of course!). The dinners will be held on consecutive days, April 20 and 21, at 6 pm at Palace Ballroom. Via Douglas's blog:
While the restaurant wont be open until later this summer, this will be the public's first chance to taste some the of items that we've been working on in our test kitchen.

Shoyu Ramen - chicken & duck broth, fish cake, pork belly, kombu, scallion, brined egg
Twice Fried Chicken Wings - sweet & spicy sauce, black sesame
Miso Dashi - matzo balls, long pepper, scallion
Pickles - barrel fermented pickles, iceberg salad, smoked kasu cod deviled eggs
Riceicles & Robata - grilled new crop rice, 3 condiments
April 21
Tonkotsu Ramen - pork bone broth, spicy clams, pork belly, brined egg, shiitake
Tea Smoked Pressed Duck - steamed pinch buns, szechuan jelly, rhubarb
Pork Dumplings - plum licorice, hite and ham broth, pickled mustard
