Sip & Slurp, La Bodega at Montana, Free Ice Cream

CAPITOL HILL— Manu Alfau, the guy behind La Bodega, will be manning the grill at Montana Bar every Sunday this summer beginning tomorrow (May 12). From 4 to 10 pm, you can count on La Bodega's signature pernil sandwich with cabbage and kimchi, Dominican-style chimi burger and dogs, and pinchos of chicken and shrimp. The menu will change and evolve throughout the summer. Alfau will be doing these pop-ups until his sandwich shop gets off the ground. Every other Tuesday beginning May 28, Montana neighbor Kedai Makan will be hosting a German pop-up from Unicorn chef Josh Nebe. [EaterWire]

WALLINGFORD— If brunch is a little too snoresville for you, take Mom to the second annual Sip & Slurp. From 2 to 5 pm tomorrow, head to Wine World where Taylor Shellfish will be selling oysters for "a buck a shuck" and local brewers will be competing to see whose beer pairs best. Breweries include Pike Brewing, Fremont Brewing, Ninkasi, Diamond Knot Brewing, Silver City Brewing, Fort George and Odin. Tickets are $10, which includes 10 tasting tickets and a vote.
