Farmers Market Wire

Is Pike Place Market really a farmers market? The Huffington Post named it one of the country's 10 best, but as Rebekah Denn from The Seattle Times discovered, the public market does not qualify to be a farmers market in the strictest sense of the word. The year-round produce markets are allowed to sell produce purchased from wholesalers and from outside the region, which goes against the state Farmers Market Association guidelines. [Seattle Times]
