After a minor set-back when the diner caught on fire, Lost Lake Cafe on Capitol Hill will open its doors to the public at 8 am this morning.
The 24-hour diner, a former bathhouse next to Elliott Bay Books, is the newest offspring of David Meinert (The 5 Point) and Jason Lajeuness (Neumo's/Mo Bar, Big Mario's, Barboza).
After today's soft opening, the lounge will open daily at 6 am and close at 2 am, while the cafe will be open round-the-clock. Expect huge portions of diner food and what the boys are describing as "Capitol Hill's best happy hour" which will be served Mon-Fri, 4 to 6 and include a cheeseburger and fries for $2.50
For more photos of the diner, and a list of today's specials, head on over to the Lost Lake Facebook page. And check out the Capitol Hill Seattle blog for some more late-night details.
