Renee Erickson to Open 'Barnacle' Next Door to 'Walrus'

Another restaurant opening to keep an eye on this summer

In keeping with her long-running streak of marine-themed restaurants (Boat Street, The Walrus & the Carpenter, The Whale Wins), Renee Erickson is opening Barnacle. Yanked straight from the new joint's Facebook page that was created less than 24 hours ago:

Barnacle, from Renee Erickson and partners, will be a jewel box like-wine bar and restaurant adjacent to The Walrus and the Carpenter. Opening late-Summer, guests at the Barnacle will enjoy an extensive selection of wines by the glass, house made charcuterie, interesting seafood offerings, delicious tartines, rich cheeses, ice cold beer and old world cocktails. Barnacle will be a lively and comfortable place to spend an evening or a delightful spot to have a glass of wine and a bite to eat before dining at The Walrus and the Carpenter. Seating 25 at a long bar and a private banquette, Barnacle will be a warm and intimate space, opening daily from 3pm until 11pm.
