Old Ballard Liquor Co. Opens; Bottlehouse Turns Three

New, 1 comment

BALLARD— Giving all the breweries a run for their booze-drenched money, Old Ballard Liquor Co. is set to open on Thursday. According to Ballard News Tribune, the soft opening will "mostly be a chance for the curious person to drop in and chat with the talkative owner" whose name is Lexi. Lexi, who doesn't want her last name revealed, should be able to sell booze in about three weeks, telling BNT: "The doors are open but we're still waiting for the last couple of papers until we sell some alcohol." OBLC will focus on a fruit-infused liqueur, and will also eventually offer vodka and aquavit. [BNT]

BELLTOWN— The Irish dive bar at 3rd and Bell known as Kelly's is long gone. In its place: a "new Chinese restaurant." A permit for remodeling has been issued in the name of Black Bamboo, but there's no guarantee that the new spot will actually operate under that name. [EaterWire]

MADRONABottlehouse in Madrona turns three-years old on Saturday and is celebrating with happy hour shenanigans from noon to 6 pm featuring $1 off pints, $5 wines on tap "and more." Also promised: special performances by Bottlehouse salon curator Adrian Kolbo, DJ Stack "and more!" If not for the special deals, then come for Young Guns semi-finalist Henri Schock. [EaterWire]
