Providence Cicero reviews Ballard Annex Oyster House for The Seattle Times this week. Of the ambience, she says it "does a good job of capturing the boisterous bonhomie of those classic American dinner houses — except this place looks a lot swankier." Cicero is less impressed with the menu, calling out the East vs. West crabcake showdown ("both tasted a little too assertively of fry oil") and the Oysters Rockefeller ("the oyster seemed a little smothered"). She gives props to the lobster roll, Caesar salad, and "textbook-perfect creme brulee." All in all, two-and-a-half stars. [Seattle Times]
