A new cheap-ass gourmet sandwich shop is now open downtown. Seattle Met reports that the 5-inch sandwiches at Pane Pane (pronounced pa-nay) at Third and Union start at $2.99 and 10-inch options begin at $4.50. Owner Young Chun says, "We're all about curing meats and making sauces here." They also make their own bread. His favorite sandwich: The prosciutto and mascarpone with sun-dried tomatoes, onions and spinach for less than $5. P2 is open weekdays from 7:30 to 5pm. [Seattle Met]
