WEST SEATTLE— Over at The Slog, reports that Mayor McGinn is rejecting the West Seattle Whole Foods megaproject over lack of livable wages and benefits. With Whole Foods' notorious anti-union stance, the blog asks: "Is it reasonable to question whether it is ever in the public interest to advantage low-wage/non-union Whole Foods against competitors that provide living wage union jobs?" SEATTLE— "Wear all White. Be awesome." Oh, and be at least 21-years old. Those are the rules of this year's All White Party, which is heading to the Seattle waterfront. After three years playing host to what is now mainly a fashion event, Matthews Winery in Woodinville is handing the baton to Bell Harbor on Pier 66. Originally conceived as a celebration of white wine when it launched in 2010, the AWP has seen a huge spike in attendance, jumping from 400 to more than 2,000 last year. This year's party is August 23 from 7 to midnight. Tickets are $20. Food (by way of several food trucks) and wine are extra. [EaterWire]
