Remember the story back in May about "some random bar" taking over the old C.S. Finnegan's space in Belltown? It's not just a placeholder name — it's the real thing. And it's now open.

Owner Michael Maione tells Seattle Met the name is somewhat of an homage to Seinfeld : "The show about nothing kind of evolved into the idea of Some Random Bar, and not being about one specific thing."

Other facts: Eric Sakai, most recently of the Four Seasons in Jackson Hole, is the chef; the cuisine isn't quite gastropub, but it sort of is (crab nachos, steamed clams and mussels served on grilled ciabatta; pork belly sliders, twice-cooked oxtails, chocolate-dipped bacon strips); there are 15 wines by-the-glass (mostly Washington and California) and 11 mostly local draft beers; and if you order a PBR tallboy, it comes wrapped in a paper bag.

Hours of operation are Tues-Sun, 4 pm to 2 am.
