Just last month, Blind Pig Bistro announced they were taking over the strip-mall teriyaki shop next door to them off Eastlake and converting it into a more casual dining spot. Last night, they announced the opening date on their Facebook page: it's tomorrow.
This new joint will be run by Blind Pig co-owner and general manager Rene Gutierrez, who, along with Blind Pig chef-owner Charles Walpole, will keep the Eastlake Teriyaki sign as a tribute to the longstanding neighborhood restaurant.
A press release states opening menu details:
The opening day menu will include a slew of international flavors like pork belly banh mi, fried catfish sandwich, falafel, pulled pork, beet salad, quinoa salad, potato salad, watermelon panzanella, elote (Mexican corn on the cob), and gazpacho. Blind Pig at Eastlake Teriyaki will offer aguas frescas, like horchata and Agua de Jamaica, as regular beverage options.
Hours are Mon-Fri, 11 am to 9 pm.
