The Old Sage opens Wednesday. Finally! Dana Tough and Brian McCracken have been slaving away on their smoked meats and malts project on Capitol Hill for months (the original opening date was pegged to February). And after a soft opening tonight (friends and family only, sorry), the boys will be ready to publicly showcase their new restaurant Wednesday at 5 pm. Old Sage will be open daily from 5 pm to close (around 2 am).
The menu will be priced along the same lines as Spur, albeit a bit less expensive.
As for the cocktail program, barman Charles Veitch, formerly of Bastille (and Spur when it first opened) and most recently of Nomad, will be in charge of that.
Old Sage seats about 70-something people. And there are two really cool murals on the wall, courtesy of Joe Nix.
Stay tuned for lots more swell Old Sage info from McCracken & Tough.
