Competitive Eating

New, 1 comment

Start fasting. On Sunday (July 14), Miyabi 45th will host a traditional wanko soba eating competition. Participants have 30 minutes to suck up as many noodles as humanly possible. The winner gets a $100 gift certificate to the restaurant and, of course, bragging rights. Registration is $35. The clock starts at 11:30 am. Interested? Register by calling Miyabi 45th at (206) 632-4545. Wanko, by the way, is the Japanese word for "bowl" and refers to the small bowls in which the noodles are served. [EaterWire]
