Whale Wins & Joule Tie for Bon Appetit's #9 Best New Restaurant of 2013

Insert drumroll here. Both Joule and Whale Wins have landed on Bon Appetit's list of the 10 Best New Restaurants in America 2013. The two tied for the #9 spot.

Writes Bon App restaurant editor Andrew Knowlton: "The perfect meal starts in one Seattle restaurant, continues in another, and should definitely include our dish of the year, tartare."

The 50 nominees were announced last Thursday. Of the three Seattle spots on that exclusive list, Bar Sajor was the only one that didn't make the final cut. Portland also joins the "Hot 10" club with Ava Gene's. The second restaurant project by Stumptown's Duane Sorenson came in at #5.
