Well, well, well. Looks like Seattle will represent in the upcoming season of Top Chef: New Orleans. Today, Bravo announced six more contestants for season 11, which includes Carrie Mashaney, who will be the chef de cuisine at Aragona when it opens this fall (check out her official Bravo profile). Joining her: Shirley Chung (formerly China Poblano by Jose Andres, Las Vegas), Louis Maldonado (Spoonbar, Healdsburg, CA), Ramon Bojorquez (Nine-Ten, La Jolla, CA), Brian Huskey (Picca, Los Angeles), and Travis Masar (Exec. Chef, Colorado). The rest of the cheftestapants will be revealed tomorrow.
During a June interview for his new place, Stratton told Eater that Carrie was "back in Spain now, trying to atune herself with what I'm looking for." Uh huh. Does this mean she was not actually globe-trotting, Mr. Stratton? "Well, she might have been...LOL." But he does (truthfully) say this about what viewers can expect to see from his compadre: "General badassery and sassis my guess. Carrie is one of the best cooks I know."
