BALLARD— Five Guys Burger and Fries is coming to Ballard. My Ballard reports the franchise could be filling one of the ground-level retail spaces in the apartment building on the corner of 15th and Market. Five Guys says they expect to open early 2014. [MyBallard]
CAPITOL HILL— Pho Cyclo chef-owner Taylor Hoang is bringing back her popular Vietnamese cooking classes, as well as insider tours of the International District next month. The two-hour cooking classes (6 o 8 pm) will focus on quick, simple Vietnamese dinners. They're being offered September 10, 12, 17 and 19. The cost is $75 per person. The three-hour tours (10a to 1p) take place Sept 11 and 18 and cost $65 (lunch, snacking and parking included).
