BALLARD— National S'mores Day is Saturday, August 10, and in honor of the sweet event, Hot Cakes will launch their brand new S'mores Kit (homemade graham crackers, a bar of sophisticated smoked chocolate and corn syrup-free homemade marshmallows) for $25 (regularly $32) and offer a special S'more ice cream sandwich for $5. SOUTH LAKE UNION— The 9th annual South Lake Union Block Party is this Friday, August 9. The free event will feature a wide variety of events and activities including a burger grilling contest pitting South Lake Union's top grilling experts against each other: Brave Horse Tavern, Lunchbox Laboratory, Seastar, Top Pot Doughnuts and Whole Foods.
