The Seattle Food Geek (a.k.a. Scott Heimendinger) has launched a Kickstarter campaign to get his answer to an affordable, high-quality sous vide machine to market. His Sansaire sous vide immersion circulator (check out the video demo) is three years in the making. The Kickstarter went live this morning. Scott, whose day job is the Director of Applied Research at Modernist Cuisine, says his employer has nothing to do with this project: "This project is not MC related at all. It was something I had started prior to joining MC, and something that Nathan (Myhrvold) generously gave me permission to pursue in my off-work hours."
Scott's goal is to raise $100,000. After just four hours of being live, his Kickstarter has already raised more than $17,500.
