GEORGETOWN— Tickets for Elysian's Great Pumpkin Beer Festival are already going fast. The annual event, which the Washington Beer Blog declares the best pumpkin beer fest in the world, takes place in and around the Elysian brewery in Georgetown Friday, October 4 through Sunday, October 6. If rumors are to be believed, 79 local-ish breweries will be pouring their pumpkin-inspired beers for the 9th annual GPBF. Tickets are about $30 and can be purchased online. [WBB]
FREMONT— The next Coyle's Bakeshop pop-up is on Saturday, October 5 at Book Larder. Dough doyenne Rachael Coyle will be baking up treats rom 9 to noon. Expect a bunch of fall-inspired goodies on the menu, like huckleberry doughnut muffins, candy apples, caramel corn, and the return of sticky toffee pudding. And for the third year in a row, Coyle will be selling Thanksgiving pies. In addition to her popular pumpkin and chocolate-pecan varities, she'll be offering some companion items like marshmallows, bake-at-home scones and a limited quantity of burnt sugar-bourbon ice cream. Pre-ordering begins November 1 (stay tuned for info). [EaterWire]
