DOWNTOWN— Elliott's Oyster House turns 21 this year, and the public is invited to its "21 Run" (aka Elliott's Oyster New Year Party). The annual bash features more than 30 varieties of local oysters shucked to-order at a 150-foot oyster bar, not to mention a fresh seafood buffet, live music and more! All proceeds benefit Puget Sound Restoration Fund (PSRF), a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the Sound's water quality and native marine species and their habitats. The big event is November 2 from 5 to 9 pm, but tickets are on sale now (VIP admission is already sold out). They're $95 and can be purchased online. [EaterWire]
CAPITOL HILL— Starbucks is planning a massive roasting plant/cafe/retail shop in the former auto row building at 1124 Pike. CHS reports the 15,000 square-foot space is just 200-feet from Victrola's roastery. The coffee behemoth tells the blog: "Starbucks is proud to have been part of the Hill's vibrant coffee culture and community since 1979, and we are looking forward to sharing more in-depth plans with the neighborhood over the next few months."
