SOUTH LAKE UNION— Chefs from re:public, Kedai Makan, Local 360, Crush, Miller's Guild and Canlis are getting together to raise money for their friend Matt Farrer. The February 16 benefit (a five-course dinner for $120) will be held at 1927 Events and is the second in the series of fundraising events to help support food industry folks with cancer, including 33-year-old chef Matt, who is currently battling colon cancer. Want to support the cause, but can't make dinner? A public after party is also being held from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., with food, cocktails, music, dancing, a raffle, and bake sale ($40 at the door). Tickets to both events are on sale now. [EaterWire]
YOUR TV/CAPITOL HILL— Baked goods fans rejoice! Our little Crumble & Flake patisserie is putting on its star pants and getting its first taste of the spotlight. Back in October, they taped a segment of "Unique Sweet" for the Cooking Channel, and it's set to air this Sunday, Jan. 19, at 7 pm and again at 11 pm. They'll be spilling secrets on their pistachio croissants, pink peppercorn shortbread, and apricot and Stilton scones. [Facebook]
BELLEVUE/SOUTH LAKE UNION/GIG HARBOR— For the next two weeks, all Lunchbox Laboratory locations are hooking you up with a cheap date. After 3 pm, they're offering five-dollar burgers when you buy one regular priced. [Facebook]
