Liberty Sibling 'Good Citizen' Aims for March Opening

New, 1 comment

Capitol Hill mainstay Liberty is about to get a new sibling, and papa Andrew Friedman couldn't be anymore excited. According to CHS (which already made the "And Justice For All" joke so we wouldn't have to), the new bar will actually be called Good Citizen, and is moving into the former Online Cafe space on E. Olive Way.

"It's designed to look like someone's house… really comfortable and nice," Friedman told the blog. Translation: the space will also feature Liberty-style couches and such, with a few large dining tables for communal sits, and a bar that looks like the one you might have at home (if you didn't live in a tiny $1200/month closet, that is).

One other feature Friedman's especially stoked about is the food part of the program. But rather than duplicate Liberty's sushi and cocktails formula, he's planning to give his kitchen over to various food trucks for two months at a time.

If all goes according to plan, they'll be throwing their doors open in March.
