DOWNTOWN -- RN74 Seattle is partnering with Jasmine Hirsch of Hirsch Vineyards for the final "Behind the Bottle" dinner on November 5. The evening involves a four-course meal from Executive Chef David Varley and pairings from Hirsch Vineyards. KICKSTARTIN' -- Ghostfish Brewing, which has set out to become the state's first gluten-free brewery, is attempting to raise $30,000 through Kickstarter. Donations will help the brewery "acquire the necessary permits, do the construction and plumbing, purchase and install a 1/2-bbl (15.5 gallon) electric brewing system, and acquire the necessary fermenters and lab equipment." OLYMPIA -- Bad ass barista Sam Schroeder of the Olympia Coffee Roasting Company took home top honors in the Northwestern division of the Big Western Regional coffee competition. Schroeder will compete in next year's World Barista Championship 2015. [EaterWire]
