Luxury Tower Coming to Downtown; Central District's Basement Speakeasy

Without further ado, we present the latest and greatest from our sister site, Curbed Seattle.

HENDRIX WATCH— According to rumor, hearsay and a couple of old-timer neighbors who were around way back when, the basement of this Central District home was once known as the Pink Elephant, a speakeasy that hosted secret get-togethers featuring local musical talents, including one Jimi Hendrix. Intrigued? Check out the photos.

CELEBRITY REAL ESTATE— Time marches on for everyone, including former Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla. He's looking to the future so he probably won't be interested in buying the Arbor Heights house he grew up in. Soul Meets Body meets breakfast in the recently-remodeled kitchen downstairs. Check out the photos over here.

COMING ATTRACTIONS— When Equity Residential is done building in Summer 2017, they'll have a 40-story luxury tower at 204 Pine St. to call their own. The 398-unit complex will include a 40th floor dining space, ZipCar spaces, e-vehicle charging stations and changing rooms for bike-commuters. More details this-a-way.
