Gaba Sushi Opens in the U-District; Chippy's Starts Up Happy Hour

BALLARD— Ethan Stowell's fish and chips spot Chippy's just rolled out weekday happy hour. From 5 to 6 p.m. a special menu, including $8 fried oyster sandwiches and Rock Fish and fries, and $3 mushy peas are offered; select canned beer is $2 and tap beer and cider are $3. [EaterWire]

U-DISTRICT— Pioneer Square sushi counter Gaba opened a new location in the U-District near the corner of 45th and University Ave. Zagat reports that the small, "modern" sushi counter serves rolls and bowls with sprouted brown rice and offers sushi in small, regular, and large sizes. [Zagat]

BALLARD— Brunswick & Hunt is kicking off brunch over Thanksgiving weekend. Co-owner Barry Rogel describes brunch as one component of the restaurant's, "elevated, seasonal, Pacific Northwest-sourced food in a fantastic neighborhood setting."
