One of the most famous actors on earth had dinner at Il Terrazzo Carmine on Friday night. In town visiting family, Al Pacino dined with six guests at the Pioneer Square Italian restaurant, reports PSBJ. Apparently Pacino wanted "great Italian food," so the concierge at the Four Seasons hotel where he was staying recommended Carmine's.

Wearing black with "his hair standing straight up," Pacino ate a salad and Eggplant Parmigiana. While guests "sneaked peeks," Pacino was "treated politely" by diners.

The nephew of the restaurant's founder Carmine Smeraldo asked Pacino for a photo and told the actor that the eggplant recipe he tried came from his Italian grandmother from Naples. Apparently Pacino's grandmother was also from Naples; he said his meal tasted like what he remembered.

Il Terrazzo Carmine turns 30 this month and was recently awarded 3.5 stars by Seattle Times critic Providence Cicero.
