Details continue to emerge regarding the sudden closing of beloved sandwich shop Paseo. This morning, The Seattle Times reported that Paseo filed for bankruptcy yesterday:
The popular Seattle restaurant, which surprised sandwich fans by abruptly closing both of its locations Tuesday, lists assets of $81,971 and liabilities of only $30,425 in a petition for Chapter 7 voluntary bankruptcy filed Wednesday in Seattle federal court.
But the petition also lists the Internal Revenue Service and the Washington state Department of Labor and Industries as creditors holding high-priority claims of amounts not yet determined and a number of workers owed wages.
Tuesday's shocking development is starting to become a lot more clear.
