CAPITOL HILL -- The Stranger is reporting that Capitol Hill dive bar The Redwood is likely closing when its lease is up in December 2015. There's a slim chance the bar will go month-to-month while the property owner finalizes the space's sale, though it seems more realistic to expect the shutter around November of next year. The Stranger calls it "another casualty" in "the steady march of 'progress'" on the hill. [The Stranger]

INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT -- Chera Amlag, Co-Owner of popular Food & Sh*t pop-up, has started a new project called Hood Famous Bakeshop. The shop will sell Chera's popular dessert items from the pop-up for online orders and wholesale delivery to local shops and supermarkets, among them Uwajimaya. The flagship treat is Chera's Ube Cheesecake, blended with the flavor of ube, a native Filipino sweet yam, which gives the cake its distinct purple color. She's also making it available for delivery by the slice through Seattle-based mobile food delivery app Lish Food. To kick off her Uwajimaya account, Amlag is hosting a free Ube cheesecake tasting tomorrow at the International District store from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. [EaterWire]

SOUTH LAKE UNION -- Oyster happy hour is back at Whole Foods South Lake Union, starting November 18. On the third Tuesday of every month, from 5 to 7 p.m., oysters on the half-shell are 69 cents each. There will also be beer specials at the bar and no corkage fee. [EaterWire]
