Dubsea, the five-year-old White Center coffee bar and community gathering space, has suffered three break-ins in the past two weeks, reports White Center Now. King County Sheriff's Office confirms that the robberies have affected Dubsea as well as other nearby businesses. All occurred late at night or early in the morning when no employees were present.
In a recent Facebook post, Dubsea owner Sibelle Nguyen wrote that the crimes to her coffee bar "in no way diminish our love for this community."
In fact, with the outpouring of community support shown because of these events, we are even more steadfast in our knowing that this community is caring, strong, resilient, and here to support and care for each other, as so many of you have shown us.
Today marks Dubsea's 5th birthday. Looking back over these past five years, I can honestly say it has been filled with the best of times, the worst of times, and everything and more you can imagine in between. And overall, this experience and growth is what makes it all worthwhile; the joy and pleasure of serving and befriending all of you, the phenomenal art shared over the years, and doing work we love to do.
