Bitterroot BBQ Owners About to Open Mammoth in Eastlake

Three weeks and counting.

Nice catch, Eastlake. As Eater first reported back in September, the former Hiroshi's location on Eastlake Ave. is being transformed into sandwich and growler shop Mammoth. It's the second project from Grant and Hannah Carter, who launched Ballard's Bitterroot BBQ in January of 2012.

In addition to deli-style sandwiches featuring meat smoked at Bitterroot and delivered to the Mammoth kitchen, the Carters are planning a bottle shop and 48 taps to fuel a growler station. Self-proclaimed lovers of American whiskey and beer, the couple just a launched a Kickstarter to fund what Hannah calls a "badass growler fill system."

Mammoth's sandwiches will start to fill stomachs by mid-December.
