Chef Dylan Giordan in at Piatti in the U District

He got his start in the restaurant industry at 14, making pizzas.

U District restaurant Piatti has announced the hiring of Dylan Giordan as its new chef. Giordan comes to Piatti from Bin on the Lake, where he served as Chef de Cuisine for the past two years. Giordan was also previously the Executive Chef at Serafina and at Cicchetti.

Originally from the Midwest, Giordan first got started in the restaurant industry as a 14-year-old, making pizzas. The 20-year restaurant veteran says he's in the industry because "I love food, how it brings people together, how it conveys culture. I also love working with the amazing ingredients available to us in this area. And the people. Restaurant people are good people. Odd people. And the rush of it. Its an exhilarating thing working in a busy kitchen that is running smoothly. Its like part boxing match part ballet, and its addictive."
