It's kid-friendly. It's sports-centric.

Cafe Nola's Kevin and Whitney Warren have lived on Bainbridge for more than 15 years, which is exactly how long they've wanted the island to have a "real sports bar" for watching Seahawks and Mariners games. So they've decided to do it themselves. The couple is opening The Plate & Pint this spring on Bainbridge Island in the former Island Grill space.

The concept? A kid-friendly restaurant (plate) and a sports bar (pint) with outdoor seating tacked on for when the weather turns.

Few details have emerged on the food, except that the Warrens are planning to create an affordable menu using quality ingredients. The almost 3,000-square-foot space is undergoing a three month remodel and will reemerge sometime in the Spring of 2015.
