The Westy, West Seattle's newest sports bar, opens today on 35th Avenue SW in a former medical-marijuana dispensary. The bar is outfitted with 16 televisions so that you can watch all the sports. Upstairs, you'll find skee ball and shuffleboard.
According to the West Seattle Blog, Westy also has handcrafted wooden tables and power outlets with USB slots under the bar. The bar serves a full menu of starters, entrees, and desserts, at the direction of chef Christopher Hartfield, whose experience includes working at Serafina, Bandoleone, and Paragon. The food includes a mix of pub fare and "upscale options" that are "healthier than your average sports-bar menu." There are also 12 beers on tap, with one of the taps dedicated to pouring nitro.
After a few soft openings and trial runs, The Westy opens at 3 p.m. today.
